Northampton Road Runners Committee

A warm welcome from the committee of the Northampton Road Runners.

All members should feel free to talk to the club committee members about the running of the club.

Alan Hackett

Chairman

  • Ensure that the club is run effectively by overseeing the committee and providing assistance where required.
  • Chair committee meetings, ensuring there is fair discussion on each item raised. Ensuring that the decisions made by the Committee are of the best interests to the club and are carried out.
  • Also keeps a close eye on the club finances through the Treasurer and represents the club at any governing body.

Mark Garrett

Secretary / Race Director / Club night training

  • Plan and organise the committee meetings, General meetings and ensures related papers, committee elections and the relevant papers are distributed in advance.
  • Keep permanent records of registration with Affiliated Bodies, AGM and committee meeting minutes.
  • Ensure that the club constitution is up to date and in force.
  • Apply to England Athletics for club places at the London Marathon.
  • Ensures the club night training routes are in place and announce these on both Wednesday and Friday’s for all groups. If not available, ensure that routes are provided to a secondary committee member to announce routes. To act as point of contact for any new member attending club nights.
  • To form a team who will plan, organise and co-ordinate the successful running of a club race.

Vice Chairman / Website / Race Director

  • To develop and keep up to date the club’s website. Ensure website is accessible to all members. Maintain the various club email accounts
  • To form a team who will plan, organise and co-ordinate the successful running of a club race.

Ian Hughes

Treasurer

  • Ensures that the club money is managed so the committee have a full understanding of the financial status of the club.
  • To provide regular financial summary to the committee and to prepare the annual accounts for the AGM.

Steve Prior

Membership Secretary

  • Manage the club membership throughout the year.
  • Collects membership and England Athletics forms, ensure payments are made and registers all members with England Athletics online.
  • Maintains the club membership database of all member’s details for the current year.
  • Ensure new members details are passed on for club communications and kit orders.

Tony Letts

X-Country Secretary

  • Represents the club at Cross Country League Meetings. Manages the cross country race administration for the club (registration, fees, scoring etc.) and ensure rules are adhered to in accordance with the Three Counties Cross Country League.

Mark Manning

Club Kit Officer

  • To organise and supply the official club kit. To liaise with a supplier for kit items and confirm with committee when large purchases are required. Maintain stock of kit for members to purchase, passing all sales to Treasurer.

Mark Kennedy

Communications & Publicity Officer

  • To promote the club and liaise with local media.
  • Collect results of races, competitions and various events club members take part in.
  • Publicise with local media and on the club Blog and Facebook pages.
  • To identify and promote club attendance at various local running events.

Darren Baldwin

Social & Fundraising Secretary

  • To arrange activities and social events for club members. Make suggestions to committee for the club social events. The social events are then planned, communicated and hosted. Social events to include Christmas Meal, BBQ and attendance at local and community events.

Shaun Ledington

Welfare Officer

  • Ensure the club and all representatives comply with English Athletics Association Welfare Policy when engaged in club activities. Maintain up to date knowledge of welfare issues. Receive and advise on reports or disclosures on welfare matters.
  • Initiating action where misconduct is reported.
  • Ensure a Health & Safety policy is in place including high-vis on club nights and Facebook etiquette.
