Never say “who is that over there” again!

Monthly meet up

uni bar

The best way to get to know all the new faces around the club – is to meet up in the bar after this weeks run. Come along and never wonder “who the hell is that” again.

If you haven’t been to the bar before, its near the bridge over the canal then turn right. See the map above.

Helping running friends get back into the sport

Do you know anyone who would like to join us, has already done some running, but has lost confidence? The Fast Track to 5k should be for them. See https://www.northamptonroadrunners.co.uk/beginners/

Intervals aren’t just for fast runners

Intervals help runners of all abilities improve their running and overall strength. If you just run at one pace – you are only using part of your muscles. imagine what you could do if you strengthened all of it. Have a think about joining in this week.

Wednesday’s Intervals will be tempo efforts around the university green. To allow yourself to run faster in races – you have to practice running at race speed. This session will be short blocks of pace with rest in the middle. Like an uncomfortable sandwich.

The Gym isn’t just for beefcakes

Our running specific gym sessions are designed to help all abilities strengthen their bodies to be better runners. And if you are new to gyms – we will help you start with a lighter workout. Nobody is lifting big weights and watching themselves in the mirror. Everyone just does their best.

Have you booked your place at the Northampton Half yet?

Remember to use your NRR discount to get £10 off. We had 85 runners last year. I wonder how many we will have this time? And if you arent up to the distance – think about doing it as part of a relay team. 4ish miles each.
