NRR Club Run Safety

Running from UoN on Wednesday Evening:

Learn the route

Each week, on Monday/Tuesday, we will let you know the route that we will be running through the newsletter and on Facebook.

Please read the directions and, if you need, print a copy to bring with you.

It is down to you to make sure you know the route, or that you run with others who do.

Find someone to run with

Please find at least one person to run with, at pace you can manage, before the route is announced. We discourage anyone from running alone.

If you cannot find someone to run with, please ask for help before the warmups.

Run with a group who run at a pace you can maintain for the duration of the run. If you cannot, move to a slower group.

Respect your fellow runners

Please try to be aware who is running with you. Try to keep your whole group together. Slow down if you are moving ahead. Watch behind for anyone struggling.

Safe route

If you are not confident in following the route, or keeping up with other runners, please follow the 2.5 mile route, or the trim trail, in the area around the campus.

Running Safely

During winter months we ask you to wear high vis’ clothing and head or chest lights.

When crossing roads please use pedestrian crossings. Dont simply follow the crowd.

NRR / Member led runs

Wednesday UoN organised sessions are NRR sessions.

Sessions that take place away from the UoN are organised by members on an informal volunteer basis to give NRR members more choice.

All runs that take place in the dark, and/or held away from the UoN, are run at your own risk.
