For those injured, come along and walk if possible.

Over 50’s Group

Our Over 50s group is designed to encourage runners aged 50+ to train smart, stay in great shape, and run as fast as possible. The focus is on challenging yourself while also enjoying a bit of friendly competition with other over-50s runners.
We’ll use two set events each year as benchmarks, with the aim of beating our own PBs — and, for some, each other too.
We have chosen two events:
The Oundle 10k in March (we have a discount).
The Winwick trails 10k in July.
We encourage all over 50s runners to enter and target these events to give them a real good go.
We will figure out an award for the person who sets the biggest PB and the fastest. Of course – if you are under 50, you can join in with these events – but you won’t win a prize!

June 2026

Endure 24 Reading 5th – 7th June. Somewhat of a ritual now for NRR. Complete as many 5-mile laps as you want between noon on Saturday and noon on Sunday; either solo or in a relay. But really, it’s all about Friday night!

Ultra Trail Morzine-Avoriaz 18-21st June. A few of the NRR crew are planning another trip to Morzine to take part in the Ultra again. With stunning views over the High Alp, amazing support and the beautiful Alpine nature, as well as lake swimming and sampling the beverage and culinary delights of the Haute Savoire region. Even if you don’t fancy the event and just want to come and support, there are plenty of other activities to do in Morzine. There are 4 races over the weekend:

50k/100k Saturday
 /14k Sunday
There is a WhatsApp group in the NRR community if you want to find out more.

September 2026

Marathon du Médoc- Saturday 5th Sept 2026. The slowest marathon you’ll ever run — over 20 wine and food stops through French vineyards. Fancy dress is a must, with a different theme each year-the chosen theme for 2026 is the 1980s!

Tickets go on sale in March and sell out VERY fast. Join the dedicated community WhatsApp group if you’d like more details and updates.

October 2026

Snowdon marathon. The chaos has started. If you are running, spectating, or just thinking of running or spectating, or mildly interested in spectating or running. Join the WhatsApp group where people will be discussing spectating or running.
