Northampton Road Runners are running safe
Since the tragic events of 2015 NRR have taken to running with high vis' tops illuminated with lights so that all of our runners can be seen from a distance in the dark.
Winter Running with NRR
When it is dark anyone who runs with us on a club night must wear a high vis' top as a safety measure.
Summer Running with NRR
During the summer months we ask all who run with us to continue to ensure that their clothing is bright and visible to road users. You don't need to wear a reflective bib simply a brightly coloured hi-viz t-shirt will get you noticed! Be safe-Be seen = runningsafe ;-)
Running in the dark
Obviously running in the dark or at anytime for that matter has certain hazards which we as a club try to minimise in order to make it as safe and enjoyable as possible.
- Consider carrying a phone.
- Be visible - wear Hi-Vis and fluorescent clothing. Even in daylight there is a noticeable difference.
- Cross roads where you feel safe. Think safety, you are not in a race.
- Run in groups - not only safer but more sociable.
- When in a group stick together and never leave anyone behind.
- YOU are responsible for your own safety.
