The Monthly Meet-Up

We know life gets busy, and as our club grows, it can be hard to remember all the new faces. Plus, it’s always nice to catch up when we’re not out of breath on a hill!

That’s why we’re launching The Monthly Meet-Up — a chance to relax, chat, and connect on the first Wednesday of every month, right after the club run at The Waterside Bar.

Whether you’re new, a regular, taking it easy walking the trim trail, or currently injured, we’d love to see you!

Colworth Marathon Challenge

Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June sees this year’s Colworth, an event that a number of our long-standing NRR members attend annually, but many newer members might not be aware of this great local event.

The weekend is made up of 3 races, which total a marathon, and the whole family can get involved. There is also entertainment and kid-specific races on Friday night.

To quote Sue:

“This event used to be on many NRR members’ calendars every year without fail. It has everything for keen trail runners and runners new to trail running. The routes are around the North Bedfordshire countryside. A great weekend of running, camping and socialising together is the best way to get to know members old and new, isn’t it ??? …. let’s make more NRR memories

This brilliant weekend seems to have slipped away over the past few years and has been overlooked by other events. Let’s bring it back to life again and have it firmly on the calendar every year. We may have missed this year’s entry for some. So put it in your diary for next year. It is always the last weekend in June. We need more members taking part, as Tony Letts is winning too many trophies; he needs someone new to challenge him.”

It’s not too late to enter, camping is free, and you can enter races individually or as a combined event. As Sue says, it’s a good way to socialise with other members, old and new. To enter or to find out more, visit  https://colworthmarathonchallenge.wordpress.com
