Learn to run your first marathon in the company of friends. Pushing you through the winter months.

In April 2018 over 35 NRR members will get a coach to the Leon Marathon website. Many runners will be running a marathon for the first time. This event is all down to our Sharky Cotters (100 marathon club) who loves to encourange people to run their first marathon. We have a training schedule and additional training runs that everyone can do in a group together.

Our training team provide interval sessions for members every two weeks on Wednesdays which run alongside the clubs regular training routes.

An interval training workout involves alternating periods of high-intensity effort with periods of low-intensity effort, which is called the recovery. For runners, this would typically involve interspersing bouts of fast running with slower running.Interval sessions help runners increase speed and stamina. Some of the sessions will cover five or six miles. All sessions include a warm up and cool down.

The sessions typically run on the first and third Wednesday every month. We currently confirm the interval sessoins during the week. We will soon be providing a schedule detailing the types of sessions on each week.

Session 1 (Pyramid Reps)

A pyramid session combines repetitions of short bursts of fast running followed by resting. the duration of run and recovery increases each repetition and then reduces.
