Short:

Through the delapre fairytale arch
1. From the Uni run into Delapre turning left towards the lake then take the half-right to run alongside the lake, past the water ski club until you reach the tarmac track. Turn sharp right into the car park.
2. Right up the road and right towards the golf course. Before the road bends left, turn right down the track with the bollards.
3. Take the first left then the third left to run under the trees, pass the abbey then ahead across the large field following the finger posts to the left-hand side of the pond.
4. Through the gap and down the steps towards London Road and left on trail through the trees up the hill
5. When you reach the Queen Eleanor Cross on your right, turn left and then right to run through the woods on the lower left side.  The path noodles through the wood. Take the paths that lead you along the left of the wood but don’t cross the golf course.
6. You will arrive at a point where there is access to the golf course, and a path up the hill to your right. Run up the hill, passing the point of the old tree arch, and at the top of the hill cross the bridge over the A45.
7. Run ahead through the field and turn left to run through into Hardingstone village.  At the war memorial, the routes split:
a. 7 milers – Turn right up the hill and left into Heritage Farm Close.  Follow the track and then left into the Hardingstone Pocket Park.  Follow the path ahead through the park until you reach the T junction. Turn right to leave the park and then left up Vomit Hill, but turn right into the bike park.
b. 5 milers – Turn left down vomit hill and then left into the bike park.
8. Both routes follow the white track (watch your footing). At the crossing turn right and into Delapre using the underpass.
9. Ahead along the golf road, and again down the path with the bollards.
a. 7 milers – take the first half right and do an anticlockwise lap of the lake (just keep it to your left) and back to the university
b. 5 milers – run straight ahead and back to the university
