Northampton 10k
Well done to the 50+ members who ran the Northampton 10k (making use of the NRR 40% discount). Another hot one and that tricky finish. Well done all.
LDWA Flower of Suffolk 100 mile.
Congratulatoins Mark Garrett, Sally Garrett, Louise Linnett, Sue Summers and Penny Short
The annual LDWA big event 100 miles in 48 hrs. Self navigation. Run or walk. All 5 of us were 1st timers at this. Magnificent finishes for Mark, Sally and Louise. To give the others a DNF would be very unfair as getting to 75 miles is a massive achievement in itself. A fantastic event where you see humanity at it’s best. Run completely by volunteers making everyone feel special

How we manage visitors
To allow us to look after visitors properly, we have been gradually improving our sign up processes. Now, when someone signs up via our website we ask them to confirm their pace and add their basic personal info. That allows us to prepare for who is coming, and who we need to get them to run with. Karen signs them in using a register on her phone.
This process allows us to keep them safe and make sure that they receive information stating how the club works. Also note, we do specify a minimum pace of 36 minutes for a parkrun. It helps us make sure that everyone who turns up can join in with the club runs without requiring a club member to break off from the main run to accompany them.
We ask for a weeks notice so that we dont get people rocking up without us being ready for them.
If they agree to join, and we approve that request, then we change their status on coacha to “member” which securely handles the important stuff for us – full personal details and payment as well as explaining our policies and processes.
Bringing friends
If you have friends you want to bring, please make sure that they have registered through the site so that we can expect them – even if they plan to run with you.
Anti Bullying
Northampton Road Runners pride ourselves on being a welcoming, inclusive and supportive club where everyone can thrive. As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguard our members and promote a positive environment we have introduced a new Anti-Bullying Policy. Bullying, whether in person or online has no place in our club. We have a zero tolerance approach to any behaviour that seeks to intimidate, harm or exclude others based on who they are. The new policy outlines what constitutes bullying, how it can be reported and what actions the club will take to address it. We encourage all members to familiarise themselves with the policy and to speak up if they witness or experience any form of bullying. Together, we can ensure that Northampton Road Runners remains a safe, respectful and enjoyable space for all.
Read our new anti bullying policy.
Committee change
A quick heads up. We will be having a change of Chair at NRR in 2026. Charlotte will be taking over after this years membership term. Its business as usual for now, although this changeover gives us time to make the transition smooth. So you havent got rid of me just yet 🙂
Have a great week
