Stockholm Half Marathon
Six NRR on tour for a great European half marathon.
Pete, Richard, Illy, Lynsey, Mark and Roger took a weekend in beautiful Stockholm for the half marathon around the city centres main three islands.
20k runners had numbers with country flags so we could see we weren't the only ones on holiday (plenty from USA and Europe).
A really well organised with a race HQ featuring live music, a traffic free route, temporary tarmac on road furniture to prevent tripping over. There was a super exited cheering zone in the crowd, loads of water and energy stations, many live bands and the start finish straight in front of the royal palace.
The only issue was the soaring heat and the 3pm start time.
But everyone did really well and our efforts were rewarded with coffee and buns. Such a lovely place. Perhaps the beginning of NRR international half marathon touring club... or nrrihmtc for short.
