Sharky Aims For The 100 Marathon Club

Running marathons since 2013 - Half way to his 100 marathon goal

Sharky and the 100 marathon club

We asked Sharky to write a short article to let us know what is going on with his marathon running.

------------------

I joined NRR in January 2013 and at that point I had ran 11 marathons over the previous 10 years. I never thought I would run another one until a couple of club mates (Caroline Powell and Eamon Kennedy) got a place in the London marathon 2014 . I joined in with their training and decided to enter Milton Keynes marathon so as not to waste all the hard work .

I was given a place at London the week before the event and ran it . So as not waste my Mk place I ran that too a week after London.

Realising I was still alive I decided to attempt a marathon a month for 12 months. With support and encouragement from NRR members this was achieved. This then snowballed and the logical step was to try and join the 100 marathon club.

So after 43 marathons in just over 2 years I am currently on number 54 and hope to complete the 100 by next summer.
